This recipe is pure fun — smoky, sweet, sticky bacon caramelized right over a campfire or on a grill. Perfect for Thanksgiving mornings or a post-hike treat.

Candied Campfire Bacon

Ingredients

  • 1 lb thick-cut bacon

  • ½ cup brown sugar

  • 1 tbsp maple syrup

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • Dash of cayenne (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix sugar, pepper, and cayenne.

  2. Lay bacon slices on foil or a grill mat.

  3. Sprinkle sugar mixture generously over each slice.

  4. Grill or cook over a campfire, flipping occasionally, until deeply caramelized.

  5. Drizzle with maple syrup and serve warm.

Why We Love It

It’s messy, fun, and SO delicious — the kind of memory the kids will talk about long after the holiday is over.
