Our Stay at the Underwater Hideaway in Bradenton, Florida: A Family Paradise That Rivaled any 5-Star Resort: Luxury AirBnB

When I say this house shocked us… I mean, it SHOCKED us. We were the very first guests to ever be invited to stay at the Underwater Hideaway in Bradenton, Florida, and from the moment we walked in, we knew this was no ordinary Airbnb.
This was a full-blown private family luxury resort, wrapped in playful murals, stocked with every amenity under the sun, and overflowing with imagination, color, and joy.
Our family of six travels full-time — we’ve seen a LOT of places — but this one instantly shot to the top of our “most fun stays ever” list.
Let’s break down our experience, room by room, kid by kid, and feature by unbelievable feature.
🏡 First Impressions: Murals, Magic, and the Sweetest Welcome
The moment we stepped inside, we were greeted by vibrant murals covering the walls and ceilings — underwater neon worlds, glowing fish, bold colors, tropical luxury, and little artistic surprises tucked into every corner of the home. It felt like walking into a theme park rather than a vacation rental.
The hosts left us snacks and water, which, after a long travel day with four kids, felt like winning the lottery.
And can we talk LOCATION? The beach is nearby — but before I get ahead of myself, let’s talk about the house itself… because honestly, the beach was just a bonus.
🌊 The Legendary Underwater Bunk Room (Where Dreams and Turbo Slides Live)
This room deserves its own section because our kids have declared it “the coolest bedroom in the WORLD!” and I’m not arguing.

Direct access to the outdoor amenities (BUT with awesome safety features. Not one, but TWO locks and an alarm that sounds unless you press a button at the top of the door within 7 seconds.
🏡The EPIC DIGS: AirBnB Bradenton Florida
Ezra’s favorite part? The turbo slide. He must’ve gone down it 847 times!
Grayson’s favorite? The vintage arcade games right at the end of the bunk beds and the AX THROWING (foam, not metal, totally safe(ish). <-- Outside but we will get to that in a sec.
Freya’s favorite? All the cozy reading nooks (so many I lost count) and the desk where she set up her art studio for the week.
Sloan’s favorite? The little nursery tucked off the primary bedroom — converted from a closet, but you’d never know. She made it her mini playroom for all her baby dolls.
This room alone could’ve kept our kids busy for days. It was stocked with ocean themed books, a rocking chair, stuffies, and colors and coloring books. But! Somehow there was still a wall to organize your shoes and a giant space to hang clothing, plus drawers floor to ceiling.
Sarah's fave: oooh. That's a hard one. I really enjoyed our bedroom. I loved the big sofa. I worked late after Chad went to sleep, but didn't have to be alone. I cozied up with a big mug of chamomile tea to unwind everynight. Which reminds me.. THE COFFEE BAR! ☕️ It was amazing also. Stocked with several coffee and espresso makers, frothers, and a giant box of tea with ALL the coffee and tea fixins.
Chad's favorite: Chad loved the outdoor adult spaces. He enjoyed the firepit areas (there are two). Our last night there, the whole family enjoyed a sparkling water (and adults had margs) in the hot tub while listening to I ♥️ Christmas radio. The kids decided to slide down the slide wet, which ended in grass-burnt booties, but you would have never known because they were laughing so hard.
🏖 Outdoor Wonderland: A Private Playground Bigger Than Most Resorts
Here’s the thing…There are too many amenities to list, but I will absolutely try.
This backyard is INSANE, in the best possible way. Imagine having a private mini theme park all to yourself:

Our kids disappeared into that mini city and only resurfaced for snacks.
Oh — and there’s an entire shed full of outdoor games, which feels comical because… truly… what else could they possibly add?!

The hosts thought of everything. They provide:

No hauling your own gear. No Walmart emergency run. Truly a family travel miracle.

This house sleeps 21, but it doesn’t feel chaotic or overcrowded. Everything has a place and a purpose.

A fully stocked coffee bar. With everything. EVERYTHING. If you know me, you know this alone earns the house five stars.
🔐 Safety Features That Made This Mom Very Happy
Every single exterior door has:
Three locks
A 7-second alarm button you must press or it beeps loudly (Ask me how many times this prevented Ezra from sneaking outside. The answer is: MANY.)
This is one of the safest-feeling vacation homes we've ever stayed in — especially with little ones who are curious explorers.

Me: Watching all four kids happy, entertained, and making memories AND Pac-Man if we are being honest. I LOVE me some Pac-Man!
This house gave each of us something magical.

I’m not exaggerating when I say this: The Underwater Hideaway rivals the nicest family resorts we’ve ever visited — and honestly surpasses many of them.
The creativity, the amenities, the safety features, the thoughtfulness, the design…It’s all next-level.
